Yes I had varying emotions around it.

In the Dream House is brilliant! I'm not sure if you read it or listened to it. Machado does her own narration for the audiobook, and she's fantastic. I wish that more people would read this, because the dynamics of the abusive relationship are so poorly understood by those who have never experienced it.

100% agree. It’s not something you recognise at first and it’s so clever how Machado makes you go through the motions with her

Glad you liked The Wedding People. I did too and concur with your analysis. I reviewed it in my October Reads posted recently. I thought it was very good but had some gaps and repetitious content in places. But very funny and sardonic as you say. I read Theory and Practice and reviewed it during the summer. Really liked the book and it's another one that brings Woolf into it. I read Mrs Dalloway this month, for the first time, and thought it was extremely complex and exceptional as experimental writing. Will review it soon. Hope you had a lovely memorable wedding and honeymoon. Landing back to reality can be hard 🙄

Thank you! I love that we are reading the same things. Mrs Dalloway is a re-read for me but hoping that maybe this time around I’ll actually like it
